Lesson 2 - Data Entry, Data Editing, and Number Formatting




After becoming comfortable with the layout of Excel, the next step is to learn how to enter and edit data in the software.

There are three types of data you can input in Excel: numeric, text, and formulas.

To enter data in a cell, select the cell and start typing. Afterward, press enter to move to the cell below. If you're entering dates, use a format that Excel recognizes as a date (e.g., 01-01-2020 or 01 Jan 2020 or 01/01/2020).

This video will demonstrate how to enter data in Excel and edit existing data (e.g., deleting data, modifying existing data, and replacing data).
